From our humble beginnings 16 years ago, we have now led 150+ new product launches and more than 230+ in-market projects, from pre-launch to loss of exclusivity. In 2018, we quickly expanded to a team of more than 120 employees and a global presence with the acquisitions of MKO Global Partners – a team of experts in the pricing and market access space who have completed over 250+ projects to-date; and Pennside Partners – our Market Intelligence team who has been in the Competitive Intelligence space for over 25 years. Both acquisitions have allowed us to greatly expand our capabilities to help pharma companies and patients more than ever.

Rich is the Founder and CEO of Two Labs. He leads the team by providing the overall strategy for the company and conveying Two Labs’ values to every team member. His ultimate life goal is to continue to help people and make individual lives better. At a grand level, Two Labs enables him to help a broad group of patients access pharma products more easily through his work with pharma manufacturers. At a more granular level, Two Labs enables him to hire, promote, train, develop and improve the lives of the people he works with.
Rich has a B.S. in Business from Skidmore College and a Master’s Degree in Accounting from George Mason University. He resides in Ohio with his wife, two sons, daughter and Labrador retriever, Barnaby, the office mascot. Rich and his wife are dedicated to improving the lives of others through charitable endeavors and have created the Two Labs Foundation (providing financial support to a variety of a nonprofit organizations); Anna’s Forever Families (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that assists people in adopting children with special needs); and www.RewardGoodDeeds.org (recognizing good deeds in the community through a “pay it forward” approach).
Bill is the Chief Commercial Officer at Two Labs, maintaining operations with employees and clients in the day-to-day. Bill is an accomplished Sales & Marketing leader in the Life Sciences industry who brings over thirty years of experience to Two Labs. He is skilled at creating strategies and implementing go-to-market plans from conception to action.
Prior to joining Two Labs, Bill was Executive Vice President of Business Development for Worldwide Clinical Trials. He has also held leadership positions at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Covance, and Baxter Healthcare Corporation. Over his career he has delivered a consistent track record of exceeding sales and revenue targets across diverse industries for both large and small companies. Bill has a BA in Communications Arts & Sciences from Michigan State University. He is married and has two boys.
Howard is the General Manager of Commercialization at Two Labs, handling the day-to-day operations with employees and clients. He strongly believes having a highly engaged, passionate, and collaborative culture within our organization is one of the most critical factors when working to provide the best service to any client. The focus on culture also allows him to have the utmost confidence that the team is providing services and solutions that are unmatched by the competition.
Howard’s most compelling work lies in identifying talent, developing the team and knowing when to get out of the way. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Butler University, with a concentration in Finance. He’s a bit of a workout nut, doing everything from biking to yoga. The best part of Howard’s free time is spent with his wife, kids, grandkids and black Labrador, Hunter (another Two Labs office mascot). His favorite time of the year is summer when he can kick back on the patio and have a glass of wine with friend.
Will is a Principal and EVP of Specialty Commercialization. He was the first partner of Two Labs, joining founder Rich Wartel five months after the organization was formed. As the lead for most specialty new product launches, Will guides projects specializing in creative market access, channel development and lifecycle management strategies. Building on his experience and expertise, Two Labs has built breadth and depth around oral and injectable/infusible specialty products for rare diseases, including autoimmune conditions, oncology and genetic disorders.
With a background as a health system and managed care pharmacy director, Will moved to the pharma industry and worked through increasing levels of sales and marketing leadership roles at companies such as Roche/Genentech and Amgen. Will was the original founder of the Huntington Consulting Group and BioSys Laboratories, Inc. He received his Pharm. D. and undergraduate education coursework in Economics from the University of Southern California.
Will and his family reside in Los Angeles, where he also serves on the board of several for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.
Doug is the Chief Operating Officer at Two Labs who works with the Two Labs team in the areas of strategic planning, long-term staffing requirements, and post-integration design. He believes that developing the proper framework for scalability is essential to our continued success in providing unmatched client service. Therefore, much of his work centers on preparing Two Labs for future growth.
Doug has held multiple C-suite positions in his career, most recently at Lake Capital, a $1.3 billion private equity firm based in Chicago. In 2012, he won “CFO of The Year” in the private company category in Los Angeles County. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
In his spare time, Doug likes to workout, play tennis, and hit the ski slopes with his wife, Pam. They have one daughter, Mallory, and two sons, Brian and Bradley. Being from Pittsburgh, Doug is a huge Steelers and Penguins fan and enjoys rooting for his teams.
Christie is the Vice President of Human Resources, striving to create an environment that allows Two Labs employees to do what they do best, with passion, energy and a sense of fun. She believes that creating a culture of collaboration, engagement, trust and passion allows employees to achieve their personal and professional goals while maximizing business performance.
Christie has more than 20 years of HR experience with large corporations and small nonprofit organizations. She has a bachelor’s degree in Business and Organizational Development from Bowling Green State University. She enjoys hanging out with her husband and two teenage daughters, walking with her Pomeranian, Maggie, reading and interior design.
Heather is General Counsel for Two Labs and is the team’s generics pharma subject matter expert. Heather is also General Counsel for all of Two Labs’ affiliates. For PharmaLicense, Heather develops creative licensing strategies for manufacturers, wholesalers and third-party logistics providers, working with regulatory, legal and commercial teams. Along with other team members, she helped develop a unique licensing strategy that shrinks the licensing timeframe from 12-18 months to 3 months — allowing clients to launch products in record time.
As the generics subject matter expert, Heather develops creative entry strategies and teaches branded manufacturers how to participate in the generic space when their product is facing patent expiration or a challenge. She strongly believes that generic competition doesn’t have to mean the death of a brand company product. Generics can be an exciting and profitable space!
Heather received her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin and her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University. She loves to knit, travel, go to concerts, exercise, eat well and entertain.
Michael is Executive Director, Strategic Services at Two Labs and the former President and Founder of Pennside Partners. In his new role within the Two Labs family, Mike will continue his focus on mission-critical commercial intelligence and benchmarking programs for leading franchises across multiple chronic and specialty care diseases. He enjoys applying his 35 years of client project experience in extended tactical monitoring programs, as well as strategic benchmarking for best-in-class functional excellence across Customer Facing, Medical Affairs and Market Access.
Mike’s experience base in the global pharmaceutical industry started in the mid 1980s, and he strongly supported educational activities for the emerging Society of Clinical Intelligence Professionals (SCIP). His early focus as founder of Pennside was on applying innovative CI techniques to the mid-to-late stage clinical development process in support of pivotal and outcomes study design, drug in-licensing, and effective go-to-launch marketing strategy. This focus has evolved in recent years to solving marketing challenges to the rising influence of regulators, payers and providers over Rx drug access and acceptance.
Mike has a BA from Colgate University in Economics and International Relations; and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He has completed additional economic and finance studies at the London School of Economics and U. of London. In his spare time, Michael enjoys quality family time and leisure travel. He is an avid fisherman, skier and amateur chef in training.
Tom is General Manager, Market Intelligence Division of Two Labs, and leads the Two Labs activities in Competitive Intelligence, Market Research, and a variety of client services for Launch Support and Marketing Excellence.
As co-founder of Pennside Partners (which became the Market Intelligence division of Two Labs in 2018), Tom spent over 25 years supporting large, medium and small pharma companies optimize their strategy by helping develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and benchmarking essential activities. Tom personally led many projects benchmarking recent competitive launches to help clients fully understand the personnel, activities and spend to successfully compete, as well as Life Cycle Management activities. Tom has a B.S. in Chemistry and an MBA from Michigan State University.
In his spare time, he likes to exercise, visit historical sites and read history and historical fiction. Tom and his wife, Agnes, enjoy spending time with their two adult children and three grandchildren.
Brian, as General Manager of Market Intelligence, crafts the strategic vision and manages the day-to-day operations for the Two Labs Market Intelligence division. In addition to creating action plans to help achieve the vision of Two Labs, he helps staff grow and expand their skills by establishing a transparent structure with appropriate training and professional development opportunities. On a daily basis, he focuses on running an efficient organization that is financially sound and culturally positive.
Brian has previously founded a successful start-up venture providing high-level global market research and consulting for the pharmaceutical space. As part of that effort, he developed and implemented a unique business model that enabled immediate global reach and impact. As Chief Consulting Officer at GfK Global, he managed the integration of three GfK companies into a cohesive GfK Healthcare sector, developing and implementing strategies that resulted in significantly exceeding top- and bottom-line expectations.
In his spare time, Brian is dedicated to his wife and three children. He loves doing all he can to help his kids thrive in their educational endeavors and activities, from sports and robotics to theater and music. He is proud to coach a Virginia state-ranked robotics team which includes his two sons. He also likes to exercise by spending early-morning hours at the gym.
Steve is the Executive Vice President of the Market Access division and is responsible for leading the team with client facing activities, business development, project management and project execution. He enjoys helping clients with product launches and planning for competitive responses.
As a partner of MKO Global Partners (which became the Market Access division of Two Labs in 2018), Steve’s pharmaceutical career has been built on a keen understanding of US Managed Markets. Over the last 30 years, Steve has built strong relationships with US Payers across channels including commercial, government, and hospital. Steve has a BS in Finance with an emphasis in biology from the University of Iowa.
In his spare time, Steve enjoys golfing, running, and swimming with the occasional good glass of red wine.
Joe is the General Manager of Market Access and is responsible for the overall management of the Market Access team. In addition to the GM role, Joe engages with clients in business development, client management, and project execution roles. He enjoys applying his commercial experience, coupled with his consulting experience, to help clients address their key business needs.
As a partner of MKO Global Partners (which became the Market Access division of Two Labs in 2018), Joe’s pharmaceutical career has been primarily focused towards the Managed Markets customer base. For over 30 years, this has included Managed Care Organizations, Hospital Systems, GPOs, Government Payers, and Specialty Markets. Joe has a BA in Biology from the University of California at San Diego.
In his spare time, Joe enjoys travel, aviation, gardening, and being a tourist in his home town of San Diego.
Anand is the Executive Vice President of Market Access and is responsible for identifying business development opportunities, defining and executing project work and acting as a resource for the Market Access staff. He enjoys helping clients solve complex payer and market access challenges by understanding the key issues and developing a customized, analytical approach.
As a partner of MKO Global Partners (which became the Market Access division of Two Labs in 2018), Anand led pricing and market access projects domestically and globally. As a seasoned management consultant, Anand has focused his career on commercial strategy and analysis in the biopharmaceutical industry, including commercial launch planning, pricing, market access, and lifecycle management. Anand received an HBSc in Biology and Physics from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business.
In his spare time, Anand enjoys creating music, attending scotch tastings and playing with his two young sons.
Daniele is the Vice President of the Market Access division of Two Labs and is responsible for engaging with both large biopharmaceutical companies and small biotech, helping them develop strong value and access strategies. He enjoys working on early pipeline assets and partnering with his clients throughout the clinical and commercial development of their innovations, in the US and globally.
Daniele’s career has been entirely focused on management consulting and executive training in biopharmaceutical business. Working across a wide array of therapeutic areas and geographies, Daniele’s 16-year consulting activity has been primarily dedicated to helping companies develop successful global value strategies for their innovations. Daniele’s special area of interest is value-based commercial strategy and market orientation in drug development. Daniele received a degree in Economics and Business Management from Bocconi University in Milan, and an M.Phil in Technology and Innovation Management from the same university.
In his spare time, Daniele enjoys increasing his knowledge of Old and New World wines, cooking and entertaining.
